If your springs and pawls are clogged with dirt, grit or heavy grease, the life expectancy and condition of your free hub will deteriorate rapidly. So here’s how to strip, clean, lubricate and reassemble your free hub body!

As Doddy says in this video, you don’t need to do a full hub service in order to make sure that your free hub is running in good order. You just need to clean the springs and pawls with a small amount of de-greaser before re-lubricating with some thin chain lube. You can then re-assemble your hub and you should instantly hear and feel the difference!
