Sam Gaze put in a personal best performance at the first round of the XC World Cup in Stellenbosch, securing his first ever victory in the Elite category and ending Nino Schurter’s dominance over the men’s field. Anything Else: Sam uses a Large frame despite being big enough to use an XL. This is due to the extra agility available on the large and the better riding position due to the XL’s larger headtube. To compensate for this Sam runs his seat really far back on the rails and his bars long and low to keep the front end down whilst climbing.
